Axton is a beautiful new addition to the WordPress theme directory from the Catch Themes team. Those who were expecting more full site editing themes beyond a simple blog layout should check out Axton as it is suitable for a portfolio, a photography showcase or even to a corporate website.
The theme includes 15+ block templates, 17 full site editor (FSE) templates and nine template parts. Users can showcase their work with header media, hero content, and featured content templates anywhere on the site.
The entire theme demo site is available in chunks as templates, so users can drag and drop them and mix and match them according to their needs. Even the style guide can be placed in the content via a pattern. Axton’s Header is also available as a “Header with Search Bar” template which places the blocks in a pre-designed layout that is perfectly responsive on different device sizes.
After activating the theme, the Customize button launches the site builder with a homepage that almost matches the demo so users don’t have to start from a blank slate.
Some layout options that users could previously implement through an FSE front page template are now available as customizable templates. For example, Axton offers “Blog Sidebar on Left” and “Blog Sidebar on Right” templates which can be placed in a template and users can easily manipulate alignments, background color, typography, etc.

The “Contact Us” template works with the Contact Form 7 plugin. Users are prompted to install it after placing the template.

Axton includes 17 full site editing templates and nine template parts that allow users to quickly make changes to layouts of homepage, single post, blog page, search results , etc. It also includes a blank template for a clean slate when creating fully customized pages.

Overall, Axton is a beautifully designed theme that offers users a solid starting point to launch a portfolio or business website with more flexibility and template options than most sites will have. never need. Catch Themes also has a Pro plugin which includes custom blocks for case study, pop-up video, tabs, masonry, header search and skill bar plus templates features such as pricing tables, logo display and testimonials.
