It was only a matter of time before we learned that Doc Rivers had been hacked.
On Friday night, as much of the sports world geared up for a weekend of football, internet sleuths began spotting bizarre behavior on Rivers’ Twitter account. The Sixers coach “liked” other adult content.
Several reports from Sixers reporters indicated that Rivers had been hacked.
“I’ve been told that Doc Rivers’ Twitter account was hacked and the Sixers were able to undo the likes and they’re getting his account back to full working order,” tweeted John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “Doc was notified by a friend of the bizarre activity on his account and it is being taken care of by the team.”
Paul Hudrick, who edits Liberty Ballers, a Sixers blog on SB Nation, added“Confirmed by a source that Doc Rivers’ Twitter account has been compromised and the team has been working overnight to fix it. All content has since been hated and Rivers once again has full access to his account.
However, Hudrick said Saturday morning there were still a few hiccups.
“Apparently there is still an issue with resetting his password which the team is working with Twitter to resolve,” Hudrick tweeted.
The Sixers enter the 2022-23 season at 17-1 odds to win the NBA Championship on FanDuel.
