How to make ice cream without an ice cream maker
1. First, whip two cups (600 ml) of double cream by hand or with an electric mixer at medium-high speed. Do this for about two minutes until it thickens or forms stiff peaks.
2. Next, slowly drizzle half a can (397g) sweetened condensed milk to add sweetness. Then add a tablespoon of vanilla extract (to enhance the flavor of the vanilla ice cream), or your favorite flavorings or blends, such as melted chocolate, etc.
3. To finish, pour the mixture into a small cake tin, cover with cling film or in an airtight container and freeze. It is always better to freeze for at least six hours or overnight for the best results.
4. When ready to serve, leave the ice leave to stand for a few minutes at room temperaturebefore pouring it into bowls, dishes or cones.
This is commonly known as the two or three ingredient method. If you don’t have an electric kitchen mixer, one of the best blenders or a hand mixer works just as well for whipping up a storm. Keep in mind that this type of churn-free ice cream will melt a little faster than regular custard-based ice cream. But at least that’s one more reason to devour it in no time! You can also experiment with other flavors such as chocolate, white chocolate, mint, berries or other delicious blends.
