Jill Duggar reveals she had postpartum gallbladder surgery

He’s a soldier. Jill Dillard (née Duggar) revealed she underwent gallbladder surgery just six weeks after giving birth to her third child, Freddy, who she shares with her husband Derick Dillard.

“Well…I nearly passed my 6 week postpartum checkup uneventfully but ended up having a horrible bout of pain earlier this week which culminated in bladder surgery yesterday bile!” the counting on alum, 31, captioned a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday, August 20.

Jill then explained that she “wasn’t thrilled to have to start [her] healing clock again”, but emphasized that she was still “so grateful for the good medical care [and] so many other little blessings along the way… help from family [and] friends [plus] relief now and thought hopefully I would never have to deal with another bad gallbladder attack again! »

The former reality TV star even took a moment to list the various possible risk factors and symptoms everyone should watch out for, before asking her Instagram followers if they’ve ever been through the same ordeal as she.

Drop tips in the comments, and I’ll watch while I sip my vegetable broth [and] eat my applesauce [and] mashed potato!” Jill added.

Jill and Derick, 33, welcomed their third child on July 7. The two also share sons Samuel and Israel.

“‘Freddy’ Frederick Michael Dillard is here!” a July 11 post from the Dillard family blog read. “He was born on 07/07/2022 at 5:16 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and is 20 inches long.

They also explained the meaning of their baby boy’s name, noting, “Frederick means ‘peaceful ruler’ and Michael means ‘gift of God’.”

“Frederick was due to arrive later in July, but he decided he wanted to come a little earlier (the day before his big brother Samuel’s birthday!), so we had our caesarean scheduled a little before the date originally planned,” the post continues. adding that the mother-of-three and the baby were both “in good health”.

Jill and Derick announced they were expecting a new addition to their family in a Feb. 27 blog post.

“We are thrilled to announce that God has answered our prayers and we are expecting our rainbow baby in July 2022!” they revealed at the time. “We are so grateful to have a healthy baby and pregnancy so far, and we can’t wait to find out the gender soon!”

The couple, who wed in 2014, had already struggled almost a year before Frederick’s birth when Jill suffered a miscarriage in October 2021.

“Since we were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our adorable baby, River Bliss, we have prayed that, if it was God’s will, He would bless us with another baby,” Jill wrote. and Derick in their February announcement.
