After months of teasing, Marvel’s Avengers appears set to release Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor on the game, along with additional gameplay content.
After weeks of waiting, Marvel’s Avengers is set to release Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor on the game in the near future.
In a post on his official Twitter account, Marvel’s Avengers gave an update on the highly anticipated 2.5 patch, which he previously confirmed would feature Jane Foster’s Thor, as well as a link to a detailed blog post. “We previously talked about our hope that the gap between 2.4 and 2.5 would be shorter than previous updates, and we’re happy to say we’re on the right track,” the developer said. Square-Enix revealed in the post. “We expect the Goddess of Thunder to join your Avengers roster in a few weeks at the end of June.”
The blog post explained how the game plans to introduce Jane Foster’s version of Thor, including an all-new story arc and collectibles. “The Mighty Thor, aka Jane Foster, will come with his own Hero Challenge Card and a new Heroic Mission Chain that rewards cosmetics and intel files that tell the story of how this version of Jane Foster found her way to our universe,” the post revealed. “She’s a fully voiced heroine with a suite of new abilities and gear that brings a new cast member to our growing cast. She’ll have her own collection of new cosmetics, including emotes, takedowns, and plates signage, plus Jane-specific remixes of existing Thor takedowns and emotes.”
While their similar power bases mean that Jane Foster will share similarities with the Thor already in the game, the post also confirmed that she will also possess several unique traits. “The biggest differences start with a new Intrinsic Blessing, All-Mother’s Blessing, and a new Overload Ability, God Tempest. Valkyrie and allows you to hit enemies with Undrjarn as well as Mjölnir.” Other new features include unique ranged combos and ranged attacks, with regular combat moves featuring “his own signature flair”.
Marvel’s Avengers previously confirmed the upcoming addition of Jane Foster in April 2022. A report from a previous month suggested that Mighty Thor would take the place of a rumored She-Hulk who had been slated to join the roster for some time. Supposedly, his in-game appearance has been pushed back to coincide with the release of Disney+’s live-action debut of She-Hulk.
Marvel’s Avengers is currently available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
