PRINCE William and Kate posted a Happy New Year message online – along with a photo of them dressed new and ready to see in 2022.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 39, were pictured as they beamed with joy in the back of a car.
They are believed to have gone to celebrate with Kate’s family in West Berkshire, after spending Christmas in Norfolk.
Ten years ago, they also saw each other in their first New Years as a married couple with the Middletons.
Kate has an exciting year ahead as she celebrates her 40th birthday in January.
She often spends her birthdays privately with her family – and a royal expert has revealed she’s unlikely to throw a lavish party.
While her exact plans have not been revealed, royal author Duncan Larcombe has said Kate’s January 9 birthday should be “on the low side.”
Duncan told OK! : “Kate and William aren’t the type to go out to celebrate alone and leave the kids at home.
“I think the same will apply to Kate’s birthday as it does Christmas – it will be low key and it will be completely family oriented.”
When Meghan Markle turned 40 in August, she released a glitzy comedy video with Hollywood actress Melissa McCarthy – and started a new initiative there called 40×40.

Duncan said he didn’t expect Kate to follow suit with a big campaign, and added: “I would be very surprised if she announces anything.
“She’s unlikely to do it because, firstly, it’s just not her way and secondly because of the obvious comparisons to Meghan and that terrible continuation of one-upmanship that the palace is so keen to avoid. “
